Madonna's adoption hopes squashed in Malawi

The reigning Queen of Pop has been in Malawi for the last few days, with the hopes of adopting a three-year-old girl named Chifundo "Mercy" James. Yet although the country's child welfare minister endorsed Madonna's adoption application, a judge rejected the request this morning.

The only way you could miss Rihanna being all over the news in recent weeks is if you've been living under a rock. Stories about her have been everywhere, most of them stemming from the now-infamous incident that occurred between her and Chris Brown earlier last month...you know, the one where he allegedly assaulted her in a Hollywood park?
