The latest rumour to come out of the Twilight hype is: Drew Barrymore is rumoured to be in talks about directing the third instalment of the Twilight series, Eclipse.
Eclipse is said to begin production immediately after New Moon is done with no break in between. Woah, that sounds brutal for the actors, though this isn't exactly um.... what's the word.... the most demanding of roles for a Thespian. Face it, it's teen candy with vampires - and I'm saying this as an admitted fan of the series. Hey, I've never claimed to be an intellectual. It's just eye candy.
ANYHOW, Drew just finished production for her first feature Whip It! and apparently really wants to get right back in the directors chair again. It will be interesting to see how this life-long actor is behind the scenes.
But back to the Twilight series, if this is true, that means that the three movies for this blockbuster book series are being directed by three different people all very close together in release dates. Hmmm, well it works on television sometimes, so why not teen goth romance.
Though honestly, something tells me that studio bosses want to sacrifice quality for quantity when it comes to cashing in on the teen vampire lust fest - or maybe that's just me. A huge multimillion dollar studio wouldn't sacrifice quality to make a buck, would they? Dur...
Not that I'm saying that Barrymore is going to suck if she is even doing this movie, I'm just saying that the studio is certainly not going for consistency when it comes to this series. But than again, I am talking about Twilight so the question really is: do I even care?
