Yes - it's illegal and my spidey senses tells me that the fact that it's illegal IS the big deal but I wonder, seriously wonder, would the reaction be the same if he had spent his wild weekend binge drinking? Would that have even made the news?
Just sayin'.
At least he wasn't taking girly hits off that bad boy or this incident would have been truly embarrassing.
For the record, Michael Phelps issued a statement of apology for letting everyone down:
"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again"
Whatever Michael, I actually respect you more in light of this stoner revelation. The fact that you can win all that Olympic gold without having a ring of cheesie dust around your gob AND chillax Cheech and Chong style means you are ONE DEDICATED DUDE.
