A week after he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend Rihanna in a Hollywood-area park, R&B singer Chris Brown has released a statement.
Chris doesn't mention Rihanna at all in his statement, and spends more time talking about the media than anything else.
Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong.
While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else.
Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
I guess it's good that Chris finally saw it fit to say something about the incident that has most likely ruined his career, but this statement seems a little...empty to me.
People caught up with Rihanna's father over the weekend, who said that "at some point", his daughter will speak out.
"I hope she will stand up for women all over the world," he added, noting that Rihanna did suffer some bruising.
Hip hop mogul Jay-Z also weighed in on the situation over the weekend, at the Sprite Green presents the Third Annual Two Kings dinner.
"This is a real situation," he said. "You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that."
"I just think we should all support her," he continued. "She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."
