It was no surprise to me, but last night at the Golden Globe Awards, Heath Ledger won a posthumous best supporting actor statue for his role in The Dark Knight.
Heath was amazing in that film. Sadly, it was almost a year ago that Heath was found dead in New York.
Chris Nolan, who directed The Dark Knight, accepted the award on Heath's behalf. In his speech, Nolan said "For the role of The Joker I was looking for fearlessness. I needed a phenomenal actor, but he (Ledger) also had to be someone unafraid of taking on such an iconic role. Heath created something entirely original. It's stunning, it's captivating,"
So true. If you haven't seen that movie yet, you are missing one of the best action films in recent years.
