After her driver's license was confiscated by security at a New York club two days before Christmas, nineteen-year-old Heroes star Hayden Pannettiere called the cops to come and get her ID back for her.
(Because that's what everyone does when their ID gets snagged at a club: they dial 911.)
The shit hit the fan on December 23, when Hayden and six friends hit up the NV Lounge in Suffern, a joint where patrons must be of age. They went in through the employee entrance, and once inside it was only about ten minutes before security went in for the kill.
According to the club's owner, John Reznick, Hayden co-operated and gave her license to an employee. She and her friends were asked to leave and were made made aware of the club's policy to hand over snagged ID's to the local police department.
So, Hayden immediately called 911. I mean, she was flying to Cali the next day, y'all - it was clearly a life or death situation.
Detective Craig Long told E! News that Hayden denied that she tried to buy a drink at the club when asked. "Panettiere told me that someone opened the side door of the nightclub so she could go inside and say hello to friends, not buy drinks." Her license had been examined, verified and returned to her.
"She said she needed it to travel to California the next day," said Craig.
It seems like this story has been kept under wraps for a few weeks - although it happened just before Christmas, it doesn't seem to have hit the 'net in abundance until a couple of weeks in to the new year.
Inside Edition has the 911 transcript of Hayden's call:
Pannettiere: “Hayden…I went into a bar and I showed them my ID. They let me in and um…he took my ID and he won’t give it back.”
911 Operator: “What bar is it?”
Pannettiere: “NV.”
911 Operator: “NV?”
Pannettiere: “Yeah!”
911 Operator: “Ok, and he took your ID and they’re not going to give it back to you?”
Pannettiere: “Yeah, and I need to get on a plane in a couple of days and I really need my ID back…I live in California.”
911 Operator: “Ok, we have officers on the way.”
Pannettiere: “Thank you very much.”
Of course, Hayden's not going to be charged or anything like that. Says John Reznik: "She is welcome to have dinner, but to party you have to be over 21."
Just another day in Hollywoodland.
