Anti-fur crusaders have taken their message to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, scrawling a message on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's star. While it's not surprising that the twins were targeted (PETA has an entire campaign devoted to encouraging Hairy-Kate and Trashley, a.k.a. The Trollsen Twins, to make the change to a fur-free lifestyle), the effort of resorting to vandalism to spread the message is totally lame.
Mary-Kate and Ashley weren't the only women to have their stars defaced - Sharon Stone's was also hit, adorned with the words old fur hag, as was the Queen of Soul's - Fur Hag! was scrawled across Aretha Franklin's star. The incidents have reportedly prompted the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee to have security cameras installed.
I'm all for free speech and sharing opinions, but there are more effective - and mature - ways to get your message out, guys.
