British rock outfit Coldplay - arguably one of the biggest bands in the world right now - has been slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit.
The man behind the suit?

Guitar legend Joe Satriani.
Joe filed suit in a Los Angeles federal court yesterday, claiming that Coldplay's hit Viva La Vida - a chart-topping track from their most recent album, Viva La Vida and Death to All His Friends - has "substantial portions" of his '04 track If I Could Fly.
In the suit, Joe is asking for a jury trial, damages and "any and all" profits from the song.
Coldplay has born the brunt of similar (though somewhat less serious, in a legal sense) accusations in the past. Earlier this summer, the Brooklyn-based band The Creaky Boards put out a You Tube video accusing Chris Martin and his band mates ripping off a jam of theirs, ironically titled The Songs I Didn't Write.
"We were flattered when we thought we saw Chris Martin in the crowd," the subtitles in The Creaky Boards' video read. "He seemed pretty into it... Maybe TOO into it?"
Coldplay, who received seven Grammy nods this week, have yet to release a statement about the lawsuit.
