Confession: I'm not a Tom Hanks fan. In fact, I avoid movies with Tom Hanks and haven't really liked anything he's done since leaving Bosom Buddies but that is neither here nor there because today I think I love Tom Hanks.
Tom Hanks did something for a small independent book store in his neighbourhood that only someone like Tom Hanks could do: he saved it.
Village Books in Pacific Palisades was behind on the rent and Tom agreed to do an appearance to help them out. And help he did: he stayed beyond his agreed two hours and signed anything presented by a customer. The store is now catching up on the rent and looks like it will be safe from going belly up.
When celebs do things out of the kindness of their heart (and not for the almighty $$$), it renews my faith in Hollywood - because that is where most of my faith lies most days ;)
Now if that story doesn't make you feel good, than you obviously hate books or feel good stories.
And it's Christmas eve so all the gossip elves are spending time with their families. Binkywood wishes each and everyone of our readers a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah or just plain Happy Holidays. ENJOY!
