Madonna and Guy are one step closer to being officially kaput - the couple were granted a "quickie divorce" today in London's High Court.
The reason for the divorce, straight from the horse's mouth (in this case, a sworn statement by Madonna, the petitioner): Guy's "unreasonable behaviour".
The proceeding took all of ONE MINUTE and neither Madonna, Guy nor their attorneys were present. If next six weeks and one day remain dispute-free for the couple, their divorce will become official.
Guy broke his silence late yesterday, telling the Daily Mirror that for him, it was "never about money - never about her bloody art collection. I just wanted to settle it and move on," adding that he didn't object to anything until Madonna began to insist the children lived in New York permanently. The British press has reported that the settlement states sons Rocco, 8, and David, 3, will split their time between the U.S. and London. Lourdes, Madonna's 12-year old daughter with Carlos Leon, will live with her.
Now that The Material Girl is (almost) a single woman, I wonder if (or when) she will step out publicly with A-Rod...
