Okay, so I'm not much of a Russell Crowe fan, but the latest news story on the actor has me swooning over more than just his rugged good looks.
Russell, who grew his hair for his role in the upcoming Nottingham, is planning on hacking off the ponytail once the film wraps - and good riddance. Russell definitely looks better with a shorter 'do. But not only is he cutting his hair, he's donating it.

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that offers hairpieces to kids who need them across Canada and the United States, and they're set to get some famous hair pretty soon. Although he's reportedly grown rather fond of his long hair, Russell is "excited to help," reports Star magazine.
Russell is no stranger when it comes to charitable donations - he donated $250,000 to help rebuild a Jewish elementary school in Montreal after a firebombing and, in rural Australia, donated $200,000 to a struggling primary school - but this donation in particular just gets me right there. *thumps chest*

Saldy this turns out to be a completely fabricated rumour. However, Russell had done always lots of charitable things behind the scenes and I wouldn't be surprised if the hair (which he hates) is quietly donated without fanfare sometime in the future when Nottingham has finished shooting.
