Ouch! Fistfuls of bleach blonde hair are being ripped out. Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood continue their catfight through the media.
Carrie recently implied that her ex-boyfriend Tony Romo still calls her. In the September issue of Allure she vaguely stated, "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer."
Jessica brushed that off while being interviewed on a Nashville radio show. “Tony and I both laughed at that. Yeah, we got a chuckle out of it.” She then joked that she “looked at his call log” just to make sure, before adding, “I’m kidding! I’m not that girl!”
Whoopsie. A streak of jealous, stalker girlfriend must have possessed her for a moment. This round goes to Carrie.
Then Jessica was featured on the cover of People magazine with the bold headline, “How I Found Love Again.”
Carrie’s friend dished to OK! Magazine, “She finds Jessica’s love of putting her life on display pretty desperate. She laughed at the People cover, because it’s the same one Jess did about John Mayer — same smile, same look, except she’s a little fatter.”
Look who’s jealous now? At least they both claim to be hysterically laughing it up. Now imagine the nasty words that will be spewed when Carrie hears the latest news… Jess and Tony are moving in together!
They have reportedly purchased a modest $670,000 six-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Valley Ranch section of Irving, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.
A National Enquirer insider says, “Jessica still has her home in Beverly Hills, but she plans to oversee the redecorating of Tony’s house, and then settle into the role of homemaker when her concert tour ends in October.”
It even sounds like Jessica’s dream of becoming a mother, just like her little sister, is in the cards.
“…Tony’s agreed to let her turn one of the spare bedrooms into a nursery,” the Enquirer spy adds. “Jess plans spending the rest of her life with Tony. They’re laying the foundation for a life together as husband and wife…and parents.”
It could be that Jessica has won this round. Next up, her brand new country album Do You Know drops on Tuesday. This will have her competing with Carrie for sales and the top of the country charts.
However I don’t think either of them wins with the negative light they are casting on themselves. It couldn’t be that Tony is that much of a prize. What is even more surprising is that these girls could manage a war of words. I am sure their fans would appreciate it if Jell-O would sponsor the rest of this fight.
