Gwyneth keeps it real

Now this is news: Gwyneth Paltrow recently attended a charity event in the Hamptons looking like a normal person.

And by 'normal person' I mean she showed up with her hair pulled back in a messy ponytail and without a stitch of makeup on.

Usually when you see celebs au natural it's on the cover of some gossip rag under the headline CELEBS WITHOUT MAKEUP! And the pictures always make them look more like zombies preying for fresh blood than actual human beings who happen to have woken up and gone out without spackling their faces first. You don't usually see pictures of an A-list celebrity at a charity event in the Hamptons looking like...well, like me, only a helluva lot skinnier. And blonder. And far more relaxed.

Who knows why Gwyenth opted for a fresher look instead of getting all dolled up...maybe she didn't have time for hair and makeup, maybe she didn't really care how she looked, or maybe, she opted to spend time with her family instead of spending the afternoon getting her hair and makeup did. Whatever the reason, this is a look she should try on more often. I've always liked Gwyneth, but seeing her showing off her natural beauty makes her all the more appealing to me.

Let's face it, when you've got genetics like that? Makeup is pretty extraneous.
