Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze took in a Lakers game last weekend, and recently told People magazine he's responding well to treatment for pancreatic cancer.
The Swayze announced in March that he was suffering from the disease and was undergoing treatment at Stanford University Medical Center. He's kept a low profile since then, so it was good to see him out and about with his wife, Lisa, his wife of 23 years.
"Thought I'd give you guys a little update," Patrick told People. "Lisa and I have been back and forth from New Mexico enjoying the arrival of spring and new baby calves. This past weekend, we spent a fun time with friends in Reno for Lisa's birthday, where I took her jewelry shopping at Kenny G & Company and (we) were able to find her something really special and much deserved! In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford and the great news is I continue to respond well."
I was truly saddened when I heard that Patrick had cancer a few months ago. Dirty Dancing holds a special place in my heart; I can still recite parts of it and I think I still have the soundtrack on cassette somewhere. Hearing Patrick's doing well with treatment is awesome news! I really hope the trend continues.
