Brad and Angelina are discovering that one of the benefits of being in the south of France is that they have developed a close relationship with Bono and his family who live only fifteen minutes away.
The couple recently took their children to visit Bono's home in Eze, where they were joined by his bandmate The Edge.
This past Friday an intimate dinner party was held for Bono as he celebrated his 48th birthday. The U2 frontman and his wife Ali Hewson enjoyed an elaborate meal at Sass Café in Monaco. The guests included The Edge, Monaco's Prince Albert and Brad although Angelina sat this evening out.
The Café's maitre de said, "It was really quite a surprise. It wasn't organized in advance. We only got called on it that afternoon."
The late meal, which began at 10 PM, was finished off with a strawberry cake lit with candles. A staff member described the party at the elegant piano bar as "très spéciale."
