Canadian songstress Alanis Morissette recently opened up to People magazine about life, love, music and hitting rock bottom.
The singer has kept a low profile since she and fellow Canuck Ryan Reynolds ended their engagement in '07, in order to tend to her personal life.
But she's back in the saddle and ready to be back in the public eye once again. She's planning to hit the road in support of her new album, Flavors of Entanglement, which drops June 10. Compiling songs for the album helped her channel her emotions and work through a difficult time in her life.
"The record chronicles the rock bottom finally being hit," she said.
Alanis revealed that she's dating someone, though won't name names just yet. She's optimistic when it comes to true love, saying, "Oh yeah. My nature is always hope filled. It's more about values matching now. That's the foundation."
Don't be surprised if you catch the couple at the theatre this summer - the one movie Alanis wants to see is the Sex and the City movie.
"I will definitely be going to see that movie," she said. "I'm the girl that would torture a few of my guy friends and bring them."
