Drugs or an album release? Amy Winehouse's record label, Universal, has reportedly told the sultry singer they won't put out a third album unless she is clean.
This follows a similar statement from Lucian Grange, head of Universal in Europe, who urged the star to go to rehab earlier this year after photos of her smoking drugs emerged. Winehouse did attend a rehab facility, but has struggled with sobriety since.
Over the weekend, Winehouse abruptly backed out of a trip to the Bahamas that Island Records had arranged so she could start recording her third album, which is probably what triggered the stern statement from Universal.
A source told The Sun that "Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier in the year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn’t take it seriously enough. They would never release her from her deal, they would just not put an album out."
I've always wanted Winehouse to make it. She's immensely talented, with a style and voice that's one of a kind. I really hope this warning from her label will push her in the right direction.

So true - and if support for her health won't do it, maybe threatening the lose of income and livelyhood will. I really want to see her succeed and tame her addictions.
